The aesthetic expression and the symbolic value of the traditional marble bust is a main subject of this work.
-Albert Fert and Peter Grünberg was awarded the Nobel prize 2007 in physics for the development of a technology that allows for a considerable reduction in the size of hard drives for computers.
-Gerhard Ertl received the Nobel prize 2007 in chemistry for his studies of chemical processes on fixed surfaces. Ertl's research is important for the chemical industry and is contributing to the understanding of how iron is corroding and how catalysts in cars are functioning.
-Mario R. Capecchi, Sir Martin, J. Evans og Oliver Smithies was awarded the Nobel Prize 2007 in medicine for the development of an effective technique for genetic modification of mice. This technique is now in use within most biomedical research for the development of new methods to combat disease.
